I WILL EITHER FIND A WAY...

@bendwill is a roleplay blog for miraak the first dragonborn
from bethesda game studio's the elder scrolls v: skyrim

ON THE WRITER:
RED, 27, THEY/THEM
No minors.
You don’t need to have any experience with the fandom to interact with me, and likewise I am open to crossovers. TES is very easy to crossover with.
Blog will be mid to low activity.
Shipping is not a priority but if it comes up then so be it. I prefer for things to happen naturally, and for there to be decent enough chemistry both IC and OOC.
I probably will not follow someone back if there is no fantasy/medieval-adjacent verse to work with.
Basic RP etiquette applies. Don’t be an asshole, don’t metagame without checking, don’t mistake IC for OOC. The obvious.
If you'd like to continue an ask from me, please make it into a new post.
I have no triggers. Any triggers or warnings on this blog will be tagged like so: DEATH CW
The in-game content I use is my own.
May add on to this later if need be, may not. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to ask me!

THE
FIRST
DragonborN

NAME. Miraak [Mir-Aak, translating to Allegiance-Guide]TITLES. RACE. Atmoran [Ancient Nord]AGE. 4,526 years, has remained in Apocrypha for 4,492 of them [Physically 34]IDENTITY. Cis male, bisexual biromantic
During the period of time when dragons ruled over mortals, Miraak served as a dragon priest on the island of Solstheim. He came into possession of a Black Book which in turn led him to servitude under Hermaeus Mora, the Daedric Prince of Knowledge and Fate, who taught him a means to great power: a dragon shout capable of bending dragons to his will. With this forbidden knowledge in his possession, Miraak turned on his dragon masters, using it, and his power as Dragonborn, to devour their souls to become ever more powerful. During the Dragon War, the ancient Nord heroes Hakon One-Eye, Gormlaith Golden-Hilt, and Felldir the Old had pleaded for Miraak to use his power as Dragonborn to assist them in defeating Alduin. However, Miraak refused to do so and instead attempted his own rebellion against the dragons. Because of his betrayal, the dragons razed his temple on Solstheim. His rebellion was unsuccessful and he was defeated by another Dragon Priest named Vahlok who was then made his jailor, restraining him to Solstheim. Other accounts mention that just as Vahlok was about to kill Miraak, Hermaeus Mora saved him by transporting him to the realm of Apocrypha. The dragons then appointed Vahlok as ruler of the island, but not before he was compelled to swear an oath of vigilance to watch for Miraak’s return, earning him the title “The Jailor.”Meanwhile, Miraak stayed in the realm of Apocrypha until he could amass enough power and influence to return to Solstheim, which he was able to do in 4E 201.

Text
V. MAIN VERSE. / Miraak remains trapped within Apocrypha and has remained there for ages. There is no end to his attempts at escape and no end to his hatred of his Master — regardless of his status as its chosen.
V. ESCAPING FATE. / Miraak is at last successful in fleeing Apocrypha after thousands of years of both trying and failing, not through cause of his own, but of The Last Dragonborn’s.
V. THE MERETHIC ERA. / Set during the time Miraak is a priest of the Dragon Cult. Either before the beginning of The Dragon War and the unearthing of his Dragonborn status, or after.
V1. BALDUR'S GATE 3. / In the time that passes during his imprisonment, Miraak meets and fosters a relationship with two strangers from a world parallel to his own. He hesitates to call anyone an ally to him, but what else do you call people who pull you out of Hell? While Miraak has escaped Apocrypha into the Forgotten Realms, he continues to flee from his former Master's influence. ft. @recitedemise & @redemnationV2. BALDUR'S GATE 3. / The non-crossover version. Miraak was once the Exarch of Tiamat and High Priest of a large cult devoted to her, until he betrayed and turned on her in favour of a new and powerful patron. He is vilified and feared by most of dragonkind, many demons and even more mortals, known as the Betrayer, the Soul Stealer, the Bane of Tiamat. See here for more. ft. @eyehunger / @ilithidparasite
V. TO OUTWIT GOD. / A reckoning comes unto Hermaeus Mora at last, the other Princes seeking to punish it for its numerous transgressions. When it is struck from reality, the Lord of Knowledge flees in a single vessel — and enlists Miraak back into its service after a return of memory, having cast him out of Apocrypha a short time prior. Miraak uses this weakening of its power against it and, under the guise of his willing assistance, plots to tear its influence from his soul for good. ft. @eyehunger
V. VERUM LEVIATHAN. / A hypothetical universe where Miraak was never betrayed by Hermaeus Mora and remained loyal to it. Being relatively free reign to traverse Nirn, Miraak appears and disappears over the ages as the unbeknownst centre-piece of obscure cults of various influence. ft. @eyehunger
V. WORLD EATER'S WARDEN. / The First Dragonborn and the Last Dragonborn travel to Sovngarde together to fell Alduin, in which the former suffers a fatal blow to their enemy in a sacrifice for the latter. It is an act of divine intervention on behalf of Akatosh himself that Miraak is able to absorb a remnant of Alduin’s scattered soul, resuscitating him from certain death. ft. @khalesci
